Speak to Me looks like an exciting story.  Can you tell us a little about it?

Speak to Me is a sappy love story with spicy parts but it didn’t start that way. I didn’t plan it as a lesbian love story. At first, I just wanted them as friends. When I imagined Lea she was about to marry her long time boyfriend. But the more I got into Lea and Emily’s story the more I could see them as a couple. Initially I planned it to be one-sided, but the more they revealed of their personalities, the more I could see they were meant to be. With all the struggle, pain, heartbreak, discovering and rediscovering personalities and of course love, I can’t believe I didn’t want to get them together from the start! In the end they got the happy ending they deserved after everything they went through.

Any plans to turn it into a series?

I can’t deny I played with the thought. I wanted to write about their daughter but in the end I decided not to continue their story. I imagined the daughter would be in her teenage years and would want to reveal the past of their parents, mainly Lea’s as her teenage years were often brought up but nearly nothing was told. After a few chapters I didn’t like the idea, but I am already working on a different story!

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I think I was about 8 or 9. My aunt found her old stories and I read them. She never had any intentions with writing, she just liked it. After reading some of her stories I started writing, too. First in my mother tongue only, and later on I started to write poems and lyrics and I just couldn’t stay away from role playing! By the time I became a teenager I started to write fanfiction, but my grammar and vocabulary were both terrible. I started taking writing seriously during university. I took courses held by a Mexican author. I actually enrolled for two semesters and that was when I felt the breakthrough. Even so, Speak to Me was written during my last year of university!

How did you come up with the title to your book?

The story itself was inspired by the movie, Voice from the Stone. And truth be told, I did not want the girls to be more than just friends. As that was the original idea and as Emily decided to go mute, the movie’s theme song, Speak to Me gave the inspiration for the title.

Can you tell us a little about Lea and Emily?

At first sight they seem to be like fire and ice. Lea is an adult, already in her mid-twenties seemingly calmed down, waiting for getting married, loving her job, always being responsible and taking care of everyone and everything around her. On the other hand, Emily is a teenage rebel who is always angry and only because she could, she decided to go mute. It was only a matter of time for Lea to realize they are not that different and started to regret how she decided to hide her real self.

What part of the book was the most fun to write?

I really loved how Lea’s old personality was slowly getting back to the surface. And of course, who wouldn’t love the sexy parts?

What was your hardest scene/section to write?

It was hard to write about a certain part which was the most heartbreaking for me, but I don’t want any spoilers here. When I wrote that part I literally was crying like a baby with the girls.

What do you like to do when not writing?

Streaming! Unfortunately, it is hard to find time and energy due to my job but I’m trying to keep a schedule. I consider myself being artsy, so besides gaming I try to find time for drawing, reading, and playing musical instruments.

Where can readers find out more about your work?

I try to be up-to-date in social media but maybe I’m just getting way too old for that! I do have an author’s page and I am trying to keep giving updates during streams as well.
