There
is not second part to Life Sliding. However, there is a stage
presentation titled “The Life Sliding Monologues” in the works
and we are currently in development for the feature film version.
What
do you think makes a great story?
Personally,
I prefer stories that evokes emotions from the readers. Stories that
help a reader view situations from a different prospective.
What
inspired you when writing Life
Sliding?
The
idea for the story derived from my thoughts about how people hold
preconceived beliefs about others without even knowing a person
background or life situation. I wanted to explore this through the
eyes of the “most popular” kid in school.
What
are your ambitions for your writing career? Full time? Part time? I
write full time with the goal of reintroducing great teen stories
such as the ones expressed in many John Hughes movies.
When
did you decide to become a writer? I’ve written most of my life,
but 10 years ago, I made the decision to make it a career.
When
writing Life
Sliding
did anything stand out as particularly challenging? Mostly, the
transition of the storyteller to a likable character.
How
did you come up with the story of Life
Sliding?
It
all started with the title. I thought about the journey our lives
take. To understand where the Life Sliding title came from requires
reading the book. It’s all summed up in the last chapter in a
speech given by a high school graduate.
What
do you like to do when not writing?
When
I’m not writing, I’m guilty of storing stories in my head. Too, I
spend a lot of time exploring how to reach readers.
